Setting the Standard in Newborn and Postpartum Education
The Newborn and Postpartum Support (NAPS) Night Doula Certificate, issued by Let Mommy Sleep, establishes a national standard for professional newborn and postpartum education in the United States. The program brings structure, safety and accountability to an otherwise unregulated caregiving field.
About the Certificate
The NAPS Night Doula Certificate provides structured, evidence-based education in:
- Newborn & Postpartum Care
- Infant Safe Sleep
- Home & Nursery Organization
- Bereavement Doula Support
- Breastfeeding Basics
Course content is developed by Let Mommy Sleep and reviewed by an independent Advisory Board of Registered Nurses and maternal–infant health professionals.
Why It Matters: While terms like night nanny, postpartum doula and newborn care specialist are often used interchangeably, making it difficult for families to verify caregiver education. The NAPS Certificate establishes a clear, transparent educational standard for newborn and postpartum caregivers.
National Night Doula Registry
Caregivers who successfully complete the NAPS program are eligible for inclusion in the National Night Doula Registry, a searchable public directory that verifies completion of formal newborn and postpartum education and promotes adherence to evidence-based best practices.
Trusted Since 2010
The Let Mommy Sleep team—comprised of Registered Nurses (RN/LPNs), Night Doulas, and Newborn Caregivers—has supported families since 2010. The curriculum that powers the NAPS Certificate was awarded a U.S. government contract from 2015 through 2021 and continues to serve as the foundation for professional newborn and postpartum education.
Curriculum oversight is provided by an independent Advisory Board of Registered Nurses and maternal–infant health professionals. Content is reviewed on a scheduled basis to reflect current evidence-based standards of care.
